General Terms and Conditions
§ 1 Scope of Application
These General Terms and Conditions (hereinafter referred to as “GTC”) shall exclusively apply to participation in events organized and offered by JU.connects GmbH (hereinafter referred to as the “Organizer”). Any deviating or conflicting terms and conditions of the participant (hereinafter referred to as the “Participant”) shall not become part of the contract, even if not expressly objected to by the Organizer, unless the Organizer has explicitly agreed to their validity in writing.
These GTC shall apply for the entire duration of the contractual relationship between the Organizer and the Participant, as well as to all services related to the booking and participation in events organized by the Organizer.
§ 2 Conclusion of Contract
A contract for participation in an event is concluded through the submission of an electronic booking via the booking system implemented by JU.connects GmbH or via email, and its corresponding acceptance.
Acceptance by the Organizer must be made in writing and is effected by sending a confirmation email via the booking system or, upon explicit request by the Participant, via a manually composed email.
A booking or ticket purchase—whether via the website’s booking system or email correspondence—is binding. The purchase is confirmed by an automated email from the Organizer. Failure to receive this automated email does not release the Participant from their obligations.
The Organizer reserves the right to reject ticket purchases not made via the electronic booking system without stating reasons.
If the contract is concluded in any way other than electronically, the applicable statutory provisions shall apply.
If the booking is made by a private individual, participation in the event is considered a leisure activity; therefore, the special right of withdrawal under distance selling regulations does not apply.

§ 4 Limitation of Liability
In the event of cancellation or postponement of the event due to unforeseen political or economic circumstances beyond the Organizer’s control, or due to force majeure, there shall be no entitlement to a refund of the ticket price.
The Organizer will announce cancellations or postponements promptly via appropriate channels (website, newsletter, or social media).
Any further claims for damages, such as loss of earnings, proportional labor costs, or travel and accommodation expenses, are expressly excluded.
The Organizer assumes no liability for the quality, content, or execution of presentations, nor for the absence of speakers. No guarantee is given for the accuracy or completeness of information provided during the event.
Participants have no entitlement to specific program items or speakers.
The Organizer shall only be liable for damages in cases of gross negligence or intent. Liability for loss or damage to personal belongings is excluded, as is liability for personal injury. Loss of profit shall not be compensated.
§ 5 Provisions Related to COVID-19
The Organizer will comply with all regulations applicable at the time of the event to contain the spread of COVID-19. The Organizer reserves the right to implement additional measures in the interest of participants’ health.
§ 6 Copyright
Any unauthorized reproduction, editing, or other use of materials published by the Organizer is prohibited without prior written consent. Any further use constitutes a violation of copyright law.
§ 7 Amendments
The Organizer expressly reserves the right to make changes to the program, speakers, venue, and any organizational aspects related to the event, even at short notice.
§ 8 Personal Data
By purchasing a ticket, the Participant agrees that their data may be shared with third parties, particularly partners of the Organizer, for marketing purposes.
Furthermore, the Participant explicitly agrees that company name, company logo, and any photo and video material created during the event may be used without restriction, particularly—but not exclusively—for the promotion of future events organized by JU.connects GmbH, including UECBV.
§ 9 Applicable Law, Jurisdiction, Severability Clause
The place of jurisdiction for all disputes arising in connection with these GTC shall be Salzburg. Austrian law shall apply exclusively to all legal relationships between JU.connects GmbH and the Participants.
Should any provision of this contract be or become invalid or unenforceable, the validity of the remaining provisions shall remain unaffected. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced by a valid and enforceable provision that most closely reflects the economic intent of the original provision.
This shall also apply in the event of any contractual gaps.
If these terms are translated into other languages and discrepancies arise, the German version shall prevail.
